The Repair Shop BBC1 – December 2019 – Gold Ring Restoration
In this episode I had the pleasure of restoring a 170 year old ring, that had a terrific story!. It belonged to Paul Weeks’ great Great Grandfather, who emigrated to Australia in 1849 to join the Gold rush, in hope of his fortune. He was regrettably not so lucky and the only nuggets he found were made into a ring before returning home. The ring was handed down through generations until Paul got it on his 18th birthday, but sadly broke i soon after. It lay in a box from then till now, and it’s future is to symbolise the marriage of Paul and his partner, Angela next year.
