Richard’s passion for his work is undeniable, along with his talent and skill not only to make the most stunning, original rings but to communicate with us each step of the way. I was involved at each stage of the ring and was lucky enough to watch my rings being made. We had 100% confidence in Richard’s ability to design and create the desired ring. I never thought jewellery could bring me to tears of joy or wow me into silence! We will only ever go to RTFJ for jewellery in the future.

After going to meet with Richard at RTFJ, we loved that he was personable, sincere and genuine and we felt we would get value for money along with top quality. His passion, guidance, flexibility and creative skill added to our choice. The experience of having engagement and wedding rings made was better than anyone else we know. A truly personal, original and very big wow experience.  My new husband is not easily impressed but we cannot recommend RTFJ highly enough! Fantastic and big thanks.

Last year, I consulted Richard about resetting a 2.15 carat diamond engagement ring, a 1.15 carat diamond necklace, plus an 11 carat diamond tennis bracelet. These pieces of jewellery had been gathering dust in my safe for over 10 years. I did not know exactly what I wanted with regards the ring, but I knew exactly what I didn’t. I didn’t want a ring that looked like an engagement ring!!

When I visited Richard at his workshop, he spent a great deal of time talking to me about what I had in mind, the style of jewellery I liked and when I would want to wear these pieces. To cut a long story short, he designed an individual setting  for me that is absolutely stunning (and looks nothing like an engagement ring!). He also designed a setting for the diamond necklace that suited the ring. Both pieces were reset in platinum.

The tennis bracelet was a little more complex. The cost to have it reset in platinum was prohibitive and so he suggested coating the gold in an platinum like substance that can be taken off and will not devalue the piece.

When I collected my jewellery, the results exceeded all expectations. Richard also valued the items for me and I had a more than pleasant surprise.

I have no hesitation urging you to take any jewellery you are not wearing for him to look at and having it reworked. He is a true craftsman.

You could not hope to meet a nicer chap than Richard. He instantly put us at our ease, helping us to fine-tune our ideas for the design of our wedding rings. He is a very knowledgeable and talented craftsman and made the whole process very enjoyable with his professional and cheerful demeanour. The rings turned out even better than I had envisaged. A superb job … for a reasonable price too.

Richard redesigned my engagement and eternity rings to make one beautiful , modern ring for my 25th wedding anniversary. He was so helpful and professional that the process was easy and the result even better than I had hoped.

I knew Richard would be the man to design and make the ring for my future wife as soon as I met him. He was non-pushy, extremely knowledgeable and really took the time to talk through the various options. On our second meeting, he had hand-picked four diamonds from his diamond supplier that I was able to personally view that had different qualities, all within my budget. He kept me fully informed throughout the manufacture of the ring. WOW, the ring was amazing, completely different in weight; robustness; clarity and beauty compared to the high street rings that are made in batches. I thoroughly recommend Richard and will certainly be recruiting him to make our wedding bands.

I wanted a piece of jewellery that would incorporate the wedding rings of three generations of family on my mother’s side. I also wanted to include my own wedding ring and that of my husband who sadly died in February. Richard suggested making a new ring and was so caring and considerate from the first time we spoke. He said “It is important we create something for you to wear immediately, because taking off your own wedding ring and having a bare finger after the loss of your husband will be very difficult”.

I arranged an appointment with Richard so he could create the new ring whilst I was with him. This meant that I could be involved and watch the whole process from melting the five gold bands to the finished sparkling article. Watching the rings dissolve into a molten mess was pretty scary but soon I was totally in awe of Richard’s skills at sculpting and crafting the gold.

I was not prepared for the rush of emotion when Richard finally presented me with the polished and sparking unique band of gold that I had watched him tirelessly working on to make sure it was perfect. I think my face said it all because as my eyes filled with tears he smiled and we both agreed that today he had created a very special family heirloom.

I now have the most beautiful gold band which encompasses the wedding rings of my mother, my grandmother and my great grandmother, together with mine and my husbands. Thank you Richard for allowing me to witness a master craftsman at work and for your wonderful care. You have given me a truly special piece of jewellery which will now always be on my hand.

We were recommended by Joanne @ Elegant Stationary to have a chat with Richard about his designs for our wedding rings. Luckily he had some time free straight away so off we went, thinking to ourselves that this is a waste of time, that we would never be able to afford bespoke rings. A fifteen minute conversation was all it took to fall in love with his work and order two bespoke wedding rings!!! We have just picked up the rings and I am giddy with excitement they are fabulous, everything we hoped they would be and more. Richard did us proud. I will never again buy jewellery from the high street or anywhere else he’s stuck with us for life! Not only does his work do all the talking for him, Richard is a genuine and honest guy and I never once felt like we were being pushed in any direction he really did let us make the decisions. I have recommended RTFJ to everyone, although part of me wants you to stay my little secret!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wedding ring of my dreams.

My husband and I are due to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary soon As we were only young back in the 1980’s we just had your basic gold wedding band. Now we are in a slightly better position we thought it would be romantic to have new rings but incorporate the originals. Richard was great. I originally went on my own for a free consultation and explained our wishes. We then both arranged to meet with Richard and he was fantastic. Friendly, up front and honest, offered ideas as my husband did not have a clue (bless) He kept us updated with the progress, and we could visit and see how it was progressing, he even managed to get them ready a wee bit ahead of schedule :). We are so happy with the results. My husband constantly looks and polishes his ring and I look forward to seeing Richard again soon for other up and coming special birthdays and anniversaries. What can I say? If you are looking for unique, handmade jewellery of the highest quality then look no further. Richard is your man. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I was very nervous about the whole process of buying an engagement ring but went to see Richard on recommendation. He talked me through the whole process, stone choice and layouts. He took time to understand my and, more importantly, my fiancée’s style and preferences. The result of this process is a ring that will surpass all your expectations and make someone very happy indeed. The ring we have will not be found on the high street and if it were I’m sure I couldn’t afford it. Richard also helped me through the ring sizing process and we ended up getting it spot on without the merest hint of suspicion! He even spotted when I got the first “measurement” wrong and averted a disaster by suggesting another method.

It always feels good to support local trades and specialists but even more so when you are getting the very best service. Popping in to see Richard in his workshop makes you realise that you are getting something special to you. We are genuinely looking forward to getting the wedding bands done. Thanks!
